- **Primary alias:** `cardshark.com`

## Description

CardShark.com served as a beloved marketplace for Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts, functioning for an impressive 23 years before its announced closure in May 2024. The platform specialized in facilitating the buying and selling of second-hand cards, fostering a vibrant community of dedicated players and collectors. CardShark was cherished for its commitment to providing a unique space where users could trade and acquire rare and desirable cards.

Despite its success, the site faced significant challenges, including rising shipping costs, increased competition from larger companies, and declining revenues that left it operating at a break-even level. The complex demands of new Magic set releases and evolving PayPal policies also played a role in the decision to cease operations. Throughout its journey, CardShark prided itself on its small, dedicated team and its positive impact on the gaming community. As the brand bids farewell, it reflects on its legacy and the connections forged over two decades, leaving a lasting mark in the world of collectible card games.
