## Description

Carenity is a social network for people living with chronic illnesses and the relatives and friends who support them. Created in 2011 by Michael Chekroun, the platform brings members together to share experiences, discuss health concerns, and find peer support through disease-focused forums and community conversations. It also offers information on diseases and medicines, including reference pages and member reviews, alongside health articles on topics such as nutrition, patient stories, and rights and procedures. Members can track aspects of their health and treatments, take part in online surveys, and share their views to help inform medical research. Carenity describes its registration as free and confidential and emphasizes putting patients first, transparency, and protecting members’ health data. The organization says it is funded mainly through studies conducted with industrial partners, using surveys and data analyses whose results remain anonymous. Its resources and community are intended to help patients feel better informed, connect with others facing similar challenges, and contribute their perspectives to research.
