## Description

Carers Week is an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness about caregiving, shedding light on the challenges faced by unpaid carers, and acknowledging their invaluable contributions to families and communities across the UK. A carer, as defined by Carers Week, is someone who provides care for a family member or friend with a disability, illness, addiction, or in need of extra assistance due to aging. The impact of caregiving on various aspects of life, such as relationships, health, finances, and work, is significant. Through their campaign, Carers Week aims to ensure that carers receive the recognition, information, and support they need to fulfill their roles safely and effectively. The theme for the year revolves around "Putting carers on the map," emphasizing the importance of amplifying the voices of unpaid carers to key stakeholders like politicians, employers, and service providers. Through a week-long series of events, activities, and focused topics, Carers Week provides opportunities for individuals to engage, support, and learn more about caregiving.
