## Description

CarHey is a car-sharing app designed to help people make better use of their everyday journeys, including commutes to work, trips to university, and supermarket visits. Drivers can publish a route and list their empty seats, while people travelling in the same direction can find a ride and share the trip. CarHey pays drivers for each kilometre shared on a journey that has been verified by GPS. The company says these payments come from the energy savings associated with the shared journey, which CarHey certifies and sells. The app is presented as free, secure, and easy to use, with features intended to help users save on fuel, reduce traffic, meet other travellers, and support the planet. Withdrawals start at €50 and require identity verification; users may need to declare this income in their tax return. At the time described on its website, CarHey was preparing the app for launch and inviting interested users to sign up for updates.
