Carlos Burle is a Brazilian big-wave surfer, speaker, and founder of initiatives that connect sport, well-being, and personal growth. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1967, he has built an international reputation for taking on some of the world’s largest and most challenging waves. He became the first Brazilian two-time world surfing champion, winning titles in 1998 and 2009, and earned a Guinness World Records distinction for surfing the largest wave recorded at the time, at Mavericks in 2001. In 2013, he surfed a major wave in Nazaré, Portugal, and helped rescue fellow surfer Maya Gabeira after an accident.

Through Burle Xperience, he offers surf lessons, outdoor experiences, and events in Rio de Janeiro, Goiás, and Florianópolis, with an emphasis on health, sustainability, and connection with nature. As a keynote speaker, Burle draws on experiences in extreme conditions to inspire teams and encourage personal and professional development. He also hosts Bravamente, a podcast exploring sport, resilience, purpose, and well-being, produced by Burle Productions.
