## Description

Carlos Dagbesteding is a small, welcoming day-activity centre and shop in the heart of Meppel, Netherlands. It offers people with disabilities a supportive place to participate, develop skills and take pride in meaningful work. The organisation focuses on individual abilities, interests and pace, creating an environment where participants can contribute without pressure and feel valued.

In the shop, participants help select, price, arrange and present products, including home accessories, gifts, coffee and tea. They also create Carlos’s own tea blends: together they explore flavours and aromas at a wholesaler, choose ingredients and mix the teas for sale in the store. Creative tasks, organising and keeping the shop tidy offer different ways to get involved.

Carlos combines purposeful activities with time to relax and enjoy the day. Participants may take walks, visit a terrace or simply spend time together, with attention to routine, personal choice and wellbeing. Through shared work and everyday moments, Carlos aims to foster learning, confidence, connection and enjoyment.
