## Description

Associação Carnaval de Loures is the organization behind Loures Carnival, a public celebration bringing residents and visitors together through music, parades, performances and community traditions. Its 2026 festivities, themed “Journey Through Time,” invite audiences to explore eras from ancient civilizations and the medieval and Renaissance periods to modern culture and imagined futures. The program includes pre-Carnival entertainment, a motorcycle procession, street performances, the presentation of the Carnival Kings, and evening dances featuring live band Fora de Série and DJs. Younger visitors can enjoy free events at Parque das Tinalhas, while the main parades fill Loures’s streets with 15 floats, more than 2,600 participants and Banda CTL. The celebrations conclude with the traditional Carnival burial, a satirical procession, the reading of King Momo’s testament and fireworks. Alongside organizing the annual event, the association shares videos and memories of past Carnivals, helping audiences connect with the local Carnival tradition. Its contact address is in Loures, Portugal.
