## Description

The Carnegies is a literary awards program celebrating outstanding books for children and young people. Its medals recognize achievement in writing and illustration, bringing attention to authors, illustrators and the books nominated each year. The website offers readers, educators and the wider book community ways to explore the Carnegie Medal for Writing and the Carnegie Medal for Illustration, learn about nomination and eligibility criteria, and keep up with award news.

The Carnegies also supports book-focused shadowing activities, where participants can engage with longlisted and shortlisted titles, and offers book packs for groups taking part. Its digital collection provides another way to discover nominated books. Visitors can catch up on ceremony highlights through photo galleries, livestream recordings and videos, and read announcements about nominees, winners and award events. In its 90th anniversary year, the program features 125 nominations across the two medals. The site also provides frequently asked questions, privacy information, and details about the awards’ organisers and sponsors.
