## Description

CARPAT CLIM is dedicated to advancing climatological data for the Larger Carpathian Region (LCR), addressing the growing need for reliable climate information essential for technological progress, international collaboration, and environmental management. This initiative recognizes the challenges smaller countries face in developing comprehensive climate databases due to varying national meteorological services, which can lead to inconsistencies in climatological analyses.

The project encompasses three primary modules: enhancing climate data availability and quality, harmonizing data across national boundaries, and creating a Climate Atlas alongside a drought monitoring system. By providing a high-resolution gridded climatological database, CARPAT CLIM enables more effective regional studies, such as climate assessments and drought monitoring, using advanced methodologies for data processing.

With a timeframe from 1961 to 2010, the project aims to improve access to structured climate data while fostering collaboration across participating countries. CARPAT CLIM ultimately seeks to enhance climate research, improve environmental monitoring, and support sustainable development in the Carpathian Region.
