## Description

CASE for Southeast Asia is a program that aims to drive change in the power sector of Southeast Asia towards a more climate-friendly approach. With the region projected to experience a significant increase in overall energy demand, CASE recognizes the need for clean, affordable, and secure energy solutions. While the Southeast Asian region has a vast renewable energy potential, it still heavily relies on fossil fuels, particularly coal. To shift away from fossil fuels, CASE promotes the increase of wind and solar energy, taking advantage of declining costs and growing public concerns over emissions and pollution. The program focuses on the four largest countries in terms of population: Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, which collectively account for a substantial portion of power generation in the region. The objective of CASE is to propose evidence-based solutions to decision-makers and build societal support around those solutions. By providing research, transparency, dialogue, technical assistance, and effective communication, CASE aims to facilitate the energy transition in the power sector. This program is implemented by a consortium of eight organizations, led by GIZ GmbH, with collaboration from various stakeholders in the government, civil society, financial organizations, and the private sector. As an aligned program of the Energy Transition Partnership, CASE works towards accelerating energy transition and supporting sustainable development goals in Southeast Asia.
