The Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) is dedicated to creating a New York City that prioritizes healing and growth instead of punishment. With a focus on breaking unjust cycles of arrest and incarceration, CASES offers a wide range of programs and services to both the courts and the community. Their Behavioral Health Services provide treatment options for individuals with mental illness and addiction, offering outpatient services at the Nathaniel Clinic in Harlem as well as mobile treatment delivered throughout the city.

CASES also provides Clinical & Community Alternatives to jail and prison, addressing urgent needs such as hunger and shelter while supporting clients in improving mental health, addressing substance use, and achieving employment and career goals. Their Education, Career & Enrichment programs assist young people ages 13-27, many of whom have involvement in the criminal legal system, in building skills, attaining credentials, and securing employment while addressing mental health and other needs. Additionally, CASES Pretrial Services offer an alternative to bail and detention for individuals awaiting trial, helping them attend court dates, avoid rearrest, and connect with services to support health, wellness, and housing.
