Cavalcata dell’Assunta is Italy's oldest historical reenactment, originating in 1182, and is renowned for its vibrant celebration of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Held in Fermo, this event features a grand parade, religious ceremonies, and competitive tournaments that bring the rich history of the region to life. The festival encompasses ten contrade, or districts, which vie for victory during the Palio, held annually on August 15th.
