## Description

Southern California CAVS Youth Basketball is a year-round youth basketball organization serving boys and girls ages 5–17. Founded in 1988, the program describes itself as one of California’s longest-tenured premier youth basketball organizations, with a focus on developing players, teaching fundamentals, and preparing them for the next level. It welcomes beginners and experienced players, offering select developmental teams as well as elite travel teams for advanced athletes.

CAVS programs include Lady Cavs, club teams, camps, and shooting clinics, along with year-round training, tournaments, practice schedules, and events. Players compete at local, regional, and national levels, including through Adidas Jr. 3SSB and the MADE Hoops middle-school circuit. The organization emphasizes player growth, competition, and academic responsibility, with a stated expectation that players maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Its coaches and programs aim to help participants improve their skills and prepare for high school and college basketball. Based in Chatsworth, Southern California CAVS also offers evaluations for prospective players and families.
