## Description

Manhattan Community Board 8 is an invaluable resource for residents and businesses in the Upper East Side of Manhattan and Roosevelt Island. Our dedicated team of 50 unsalaried members, appointed by the Manhattan Borough President, represents the community's interests and provides guidance on a range of topics. From land use and zoning to budgetary matters, we work closely with city and state agencies, the City Council, and the Mayor to make recommendations that shape the future of our district. Our office is comprised of a District Manager and a passionate staff, who serve as advocates and service coordinators for the community. Whether it's resolving municipal service delivery complaints or offering guidance on community development, we are here to assist. While we lack jurisdictional authority over city agencies, our advisory role enables us to foster dialogue and collaboration with government entities. We also offer a wide range of committees, such as arts, transportation, and housing, which allow community members to actively participate and contribute to important issues. At Manhattan Community Board 8, we are committed to promoting a thriving and inclusive community where everyone's voice is heard. Connect with us to get involved and help shape the future of our neighborhood.
