## Description

The Canadian Botanical Association (CBA/ABC) is Canada’s national scientific society for the study of algae, fungi and plants. Promoting botanical research and conservation in Canada since 1965, it represents botanists in national and international matters and responds to issues affecting the Canadian botanical community. Its members include professionals working in universities, colleges, schools, government and industry, as well as students, technicians and amateur botanists. The association supports learning, collaboration and professional connection across disciplines by organizing annual meetings and providing opportunities for members to share knowledge. It also recognizes achievement and service in Canadian botany through awards, distributing more than $10,000 each year to students studying botany in Canada. CBA/ABC offers membership and a range of resources, including its bulletin, position papers, botanical resources, career information, meeting materials and association records. The preservation of botanically significant natural areas is a particular interest. The association also promotes inclusion and equity, welcoming participation regardless of personal background or identity.
