## Description

The Chemical and Biological Defense Science & Technology (CBD S&T) Conference brings together researchers, innovators, government professionals, and other experts working to address chemical and biological threats. Organized by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Chemical and Biological Technologies Department in its role as the Joint Science and Technology Office for the Chemical and Biological Defense Program, the conference supports the exchange of ideas and collaboration on emerging defense challenges. Its program features keynote and kickoff talks, panel discussions, oral presentations, poster sessions, and exhibits. Key focus areas include characterizing chemical and biological threats, producing actionable information for decision-making, developing medical countermeasures, mitigating hazards for joint forces, and advancing detection and diagnostics. The 2024 conference took place December 2–5 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and welcomed nearly 1,700 participants from 39 countries. It included 42 sessions, 482 poster presentations, 39 exhibiting organizations, and student travel awards. The conference also offers mailing-list updates about DTRA JSTO news and future events, helping its community stay informed and connected.
