CBP Portugal is an association supporting people affected by primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), a rare, chronic autoimmune liver disease. It began as a patient-led group in 2019 and became an association in 2024, with a mission to support patients, give them a stronger voice, and promote better diagnosis and treatment. The organisation provides information about PBC, including its symptoms, diagnosis and available treatments, and encourages people with concerns to seek medical advice and pursue early assessment. While there is no cure, treatment options can help relieve symptoms and slow disease progression. CBP Portugal also helps build a community where patients and families can connect and find support.
