## Description

California College of the Arts (CCA) is an art and design school in San Francisco, founded in 1907. It educates students through a blend of theory and practice, encouraging them to create work with meaningful impact. Its academic offerings span undergraduate, transfer, graduate, and pre-college study, with programs across art, design, architecture, writing, film, craft, and related creative fields. Areas represented in its community include fashion design, industrial design, animation, comics, painting and drawing, and fine arts.

CCA’s public-facing activities extend beyond education to exhibitions, campus events, student showcases, and creative gatherings. Its galleries and presentation spaces feature work by students, faculty, and visiting artists, while events invite the wider community to engage with art and design. The college also highlights student achievements, supports campus connections, and shares resources through its libraries, campus services, and CCA Store. Located at 145 Hooper Street, CCA describes itself as an action-oriented institution shaped by its Bay Area setting and creative community. The college has announced that it will close in June 2027.
