About

Description

CCB Toronto Visionaries is a local chapter of the Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB), a national registered charity. Since its establishment in 2013, CCB Toronto Visionaries has been dedicated to breaking the isolation often experienced by individuals with vision loss. They aim to inspire and support their members, fostering social networks through information sharing and engaging in various social and recreational activities.

By becoming a CCB member, individuals with vision loss can connect with others in their community and thousands of vision-impaired Canadians across the country. The chapter's objectives include providing a platform for visually-impaired individuals in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to come together, encouraging social engagement and self-advocacy, and facilitating information flow through regular meetings, community bulletins, and interactive communication. CCB Toronto Visionaries organizes monthly meetings, featuring guest speakers, to offer opportunities for socialization, learning, and creating new social connections.

They also host the Get Together with Technology (GTT Toronto) user group, providing a forum to explore adaptive technologies. With a wide range of low-cost or no-cost events and activities such as dining, tours, pub nights, bus trips, concerts, and walking tours, CCB Toronto Visionaries offers supportive group settings for individuals to socialize and build valuable life skills. Joining their activities is as simple as RSVPing through their contact information or attending the open-door monthly meetings.

Come out, bring along friends or family, and be part of the CCB Toronto Visionaries community
