## Description

The Consortium of California Herbaria (CCH) is a collaborative organization dedicated to supporting and promoting herbaria throughout California. Established in 2003, it has expanded from a focus solely on the University of California's herbaria to include records from 48 institutions, facilitating the sharing of over 2.2 million specimen records related to California's vascular flora. 

CCH operates two main portals: CCH1, which specifically curates and presents data on California vascular plant specimens, and CCH2, which provides a broader platform for specimen data from all participating members worldwide, including land plants, algae, and fungi. Key features of these portals include georeferencing services and access to phenological data, enhancing research and conservation efforts.

The consortium continually updates its resources and maintains a Google Scholar profile to highlight relevant scientific publications. By fostering collaboration among herbaria and synthesizing critical data, CCH plays a vital role in advancing botanical research and biodiversity conservation in California.
