## Description

The Cuneiform Digital Library Initiative (CDLI) is a pioneering project aimed at making ancient cuneiform inscriptions accessible online, reflecting a collaboration of Assyriologists, museum curators, and historians. With an impressive catalog of over 360,000 cuneiform artifacts dating as far back as 3350 BC, CDLI preserves crucial historical texts from the final third of the 4th millennium and the entire 3rd millennium BC. These texts are vital for understanding early human civilization, particularly in Sumerian and Akkadian languages. CDLI not only facilitates the digital documentation of these artifacts but also develops tools to analyze and interpret them, benefiting scholars worldwide. The initiative offers a variety of resources, including publications, documentation, and advanced search tools for researchers. Additionally, it aims to educate diverse audiences about ancient cultures and heritage, with support from institutions and funding agencies. CDLI stands as a critical resource for those seeking to explore the intricacies of early state formation and the rich legacy of cuneiform writing.
