## Description

The California Digital Library (CDL) supports the University of California community’s pursuit of scholarship and helps advance the University’s public service mission. Working across the UC system, it provides shared infrastructure, services, and expertise that support libraries, researchers, faculty, students, and other partners. Its work spans discovery and delivery, shared collections, publishing, archives, digitization, and digital curation.

CDL’s services include UC Library Search, resource sharing, licensed scholarly resources, shared cataloging, and shared-print programs. It also supports open access and scholarly publishing through services such as eScholarship and University of California Publishing Services. For archives and digital collections, its offerings include Calisphere, the Online Archive of California, mass digitization, web archiving, and digital asset management. Through the University of California Curation Center, CDL provides tools and services including the DMP Tool, Dryad, EZID, and Merritt, supporting research data management and preservation. The organization also facilitates consortial partnerships, instructional materials, and guidance on licensing, standards, and scholarly communication, connecting UC campuses and cultural institutions through collaborative programs and shared resources.
