## Description

CEATL, the European Council of Literary Translators' Associations, is an influential non-profit organization established in 1993 in Belgium. Dedicated to advocating for the rights and working conditions of literary translators across Europe, CEATL provides a collaborative platform for associations from various countries to exchange knowledge and develop strategies for improvement. Their initiatives include creating guidelines for fair translation contracts and promoting the significance of translators in the literary landscape.

CEATL also publishes a biannual e-zine called "Counterpoint," which delves into the nuances of literary translation, featuring articles that explore cultural and economic contexts. In response to evolving challenges, such as artificial intelligence, CEATL engages in advocacy, exemplified by its joint letters to European Parliament highlighting the impact of AI on creative sectors.

For translators and literary enthusiasts alike, CEATL serves as a vital resource, ensuring that their issues are addressed while celebrating the art of translation through various events and collaborations.
