# CED Barcelona - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `ced.cat` ## Description The Centre for Demographic Studies (CED) is a research and knowledge centre founded in 1984, with a threefold mission: to promote research, teaching, and the dissemination of knowledge about population. CED studies demographic change and its social implications, with research spanning families, inequality and social change; globalization, migration and space; and health and ageing. Researchers produce scholarly publications and public-facing resources, including the Perspectives Demogràfiques publication, reports, and newsletters. The centre also shares research through seminars, workshops, meetings, and other activities. Its educational offer includes doctoral training in demography, while its research infrastructure includes social and population data explorers, databases, and tools such as the Social Explorer, Integrated European Population Microdata, and the Banc de Dades de Catalunya. CED provides a library and training spaces, as well as information about research stays and employment opportunities.
