CEHURD Uganda is a non-profit, research, and advocacy organization that is dedicated to advancing the justiciability of the right to health. Established in 2010, CEHURD has become a leading force in promoting social justice and health rights in Uganda, as well as across East Africa, Pan-Africa, and globally. Through law, policy engagements, evidence-based advocacy, and community mobilization, CEHURD deconstructs health and human rights issues. We focus on critical issues such as sexual and reproductive health rights, trade and health, and medical ethics, which often impact vulnerable populations including women, children, sexual minorities, and people living with HIV/AIDS. Our programs include the Community Empowerment Programme, Strategic Litigation Programme, and Campaigns, Partnerships, and Networks Programme. By integrating litigation, advocacy, and action research, we strive to advance health rights for vulnerable communities. Our ultimate vision is to realize a society where social justice and human rights within health systems are fully recognized and upheld.
