## Description

The Johns Hopkins Center for Immunization Research (CIR), part of the Bloomberg School of Public Health, advances vaccine development, research, and education. Founded in 1985, the center works to develop vaccines against infectious diseases of global importance and shares evidence-based information with the public. Its research includes investigational vaccines for flaviviruses such as dengue, Zika, and West Nile; studies of SARS-CoV-2 and respiratory syncytial virus in children; and mucosal vaccine research involving ETEC, Shigella, Campylobacter, RSV, and influenza. CIR conducts clinical trials and controlled human infection studies, alongside research into vaccine safety and effectiveness. Through Project SAVE, its adult recruitment program, prospective participants can learn about studies, complete a prescreening survey, and find out whether they may qualify for screening. Led by infectious disease and public health specialists, CIR combines scientific investigation with participant engagement and education.
