## Description

The CentOS Project is a community-driven free software effort that provides a robust Linux platform and a rich base for open source communities to build upon. Its flagship offering, CentOS Stream, is a continuously delivered Linux distribution that tracks just ahead of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). The project also supports specialized distributions, software, and resources through its Special Interest Groups (SIGs), which develop and package additional software, create CentOS distributions, and contribute documentation and community outreach.

CentOS offerings span diverse technical needs. They include alternative images such as Live ISO and WSL images; cloud builds for OKD Kubernetes, RDO OpenStack, and Stream CoreOS; and solutions for storage, virtualization, accelerated infrastructure, and kernel modules. Other initiatives focus on automotive systems, CPU feature evaluation, network functions virtualization, and faster critical updates for production use. The project provides documentation for CentOS Stream and its SIGs, along with community channels, events, and ways to contribute. Supported by sponsors, CentOS brings users and developers together to extend and sustain its open source ecosystem.
