## Description

CIRED, or the Centre International de Recherche sur l'Environnement et le Développement, is a prominent research unit focused on understanding and addressing environmental and developmental challenges. Established as a joint research facility between CNRS, ENPC, Cirad, AgroParisTech, and EHESS, CIRED aims to facilitate integrated eco-development trajectories through interdisciplinary research. The center emphasizes three main axes: the dynamics of systems including cities, energy, and land use; the formulation of integrated eco-development strategies; and the conditions necessary for successful implementation of these strategies.

CIRED also hosts various educational programs, including master's courses and summer schools, to foster learning and knowledge transfer. Its research groups, such as BIOECON, explore the intersections of the economy, energy, and climate, utilizing integrated modeling to assess the social and economic impacts of energy transition policies. Overall, CIRED serves as a crucial hub for research, collaboration, and innovation in tackling pressing global environmental issues.
