## Description

**Centre Bentham**

Established in 2003 by Professor Jean-Pierre Cléro at Sciences Po in Paris, the Centre Bentham is dedicated to translating, commenting on, and disseminating the works of the influential philosopher Jeremy Bentham. Comprising a team of distinguished scholars, the Centre has played a pivotal role in reviving Bentham's philosophy since the 1990s. The Centre publishes the "Revue d’Études Benthamiennes," an electronic, peer-reviewed journal released biannually, which aims to broaden the audience for Bentham's thought through interdisciplinary perspectives and diverse articles that explore various domains linked to his philosophy.

Additionally, the Centre engages in a variety of activities, focusing on scientific events, translations, and research initiatives, all aimed at enhancing the understanding and application of Bentham's ideas. A particular area of exploration for the Centre includes the decolonization of law, providing fresh insights into the philosophical implications of colonial attitudes. The Centre Bentham stands out as a key hub for those interested in Bentham's contributions to law, ethics, and social theory.
