CentrePeace is a brand dedicated to bringing peace and healing to those affected by crime. Our mission is to enable formerly incarcerated individuals to successfully reintegrate into their communities and become productive citizens. We believe in the power of second chances and view incarceration as an opportunity for personal growth and transformation.

At our store in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, we work closely with currently incarcerated individuals, known as trainees. They learn the basics of moving and caring for used furniture, and have the opportunity to expand their skills by repairing, restoring, and even transforming furniture and household goods. By working alongside our trainees, we teach the values of nonviolent resolution and respectful communication.

In addition to our work with trainees, CentrePeace offers support programs for the families of incarcerated individuals. We provide a friends and family support group to connect with others facing similar circumstances. We also offer various ways for the public and volunteers to support our mission or directly support incarcerated individuals, including our Prayer Mates program for spiritual guidance.

Through our new wood refinishing shop, we teach trainees how to upcycle, recycle, and refinish wood furniture, reducing the amount of usable goods that end up in landfills. CentrePeace's commitment to restorative justice extends beyond our local community. We have been actively involved in state and national efforts to promote programs that foster restorative justice for community members, victims, offenders, and corrections personnel.
