## Description

Centre Petjades is a specialist early-intervention and support centre in Reus, Tarragona, focused on children with autism and their families. Founded in 2023 by Anna, a special education teacher, the centre aims to provide an inclusive, personalised and supportive environment that encourages communication, social and cognitive skills, autonomy and personal development.

Its services include child and adolescent psychology, early intervention, psychomotor therapy, social-skills groups, family and professional guidance, and training and workshops. The centre also specialises in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) for autistic people who do not speak or have difficulty communicating verbally. Depending on each person’s needs, AAC may involve picture systems such as PECS, communication apps and devices, sign language, or communication boards and books. Centre Petjades provides individual assessments, guidance for families and caregivers, and ongoing follow-up to adapt communication strategies over time.

Its programmes support different age groups, from early childhood through adolescence, with activities addressing communication, language, routines and social interaction.
