## Description

The California Extreme Precipitation Symposium (CEPSYM) is a Floodplain Management Association project that shares scientific and technical knowledge about extreme precipitation in California. Since 1994, it has brought together hydrologists, meteorologists, flood managers, and others concerned with weather events that can threaten lives and property in California watersheds. The symposium is an informal day of presentations designed to improve understanding of extreme precipitation and support better flood risk management planning and earlier warnings for large floods. The website also shares information about atmospheric rivers, historical floods, special recognition, and upcoming events, and invites interested attendees and presenters to contact the organizers.
