## Description

Centro de Estudos Regionais (CER) is a cultural and research institution founded in 1978, dedicated to studying, safeguarding and sharing the heritage and knowledge of the Minho region, particularly Alto Minho. Its work spans history, art, anthropology, culture, socioeconomic issues, science and landscape. CER brings people together through colloquia, scientific and cultural meetings, study programmes and public awareness activities focused on heritage and the environment. It also supports initiatives and interventions in environmental matters. Its publishing programme includes books and Estudos Regionais, a journal featuring research in the social sciences and humanities, with a preference for topics connected to northwestern Portugal. The organisation runs a Senior Academy, established in 2004, and offers activities such as a study cycle and cultural projects. Through its events, publications and educational programmes, CER provides opportunities for learning, discussion and community participation. It invites researchers to submit original studies, essays, research notes and reviews, and welcomes members and supporters who wish to contribute to cultural life in Alto Minho.
