Ceramic Tile EF is a leading brand that offers advanced certifications for tile installers to ensure greater consumer confidence. This program was created by six prominent tile industry organizations, including the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) and the Tile Council of North America (TCNA). ACT certified installers are recognized for their superior level of excellence and their adherence to tile installation procedures that surpass ANSI standards and TCNA guidelines for floor and wall tiles. The ACT program evaluates and certifies tile installers in seven specific areas of tile installation, such as grouts, large format tile, and substrate preparation. To become ACT certified, installers must successfully complete a written online test and a field test conducted by trained evaluators. They must also be pre-qualified either as a Certified Tile Installer (CTI) through CTEF or as a journeyman tile setter through the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers.
