CERGE-EI is a renowned economics research institute located in Prague. It is a joint partnership between Charles University and the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, dedicated to promoting modern education and research in economics. With its Western-style, US-chartered graduate programs, CERGE-EI offers a Ph.D. Despite its small size, CERGE-EI has made a global impact through its frontier economics research and has gained a reputation for producing high-quality research. The institute also hosts public lectures and seminars, making economics knowledge accessible to a wider audience. One of CERGE-EI's key missions is to expand the pool of elite economists in Central and Eastern Europe and beyond, serving the public interest. In its 30-year history, CERGE-EI has attracted students from over 30 countries and has produced more than 500 graduates employed in 32 countries, many working in central banks, governments, and international organizations. With over 100,000 volumes available in its economics library, CERGE-EI provides a rich academic environment for learning and research.
