## Description

Cerro Alto is a nonprofit cultural and environmental association based in Abengibre, in Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. It works to conserve and defend the natural environment and the historical and cultural heritage of rural communities. The association promotes biodiversity, environmental awareness, local history, customs, and traditions, bringing residents together through volunteering, learning, and community participation.

Its initiatives include litter removal and restoration through the Basuraleza campaign, reforestation projects, nature and heritage research, and resources such as guides to local flora, fauna, springs, and water sources. Cerro Alto also offers educational activities through its nature and culture classrooms, training sessions, and public outreach. Cultural programs include historical archives and oral testimonies, exhibitions, concerts, workshops, excursions, and local events. For outdoor participation, the association organizes hiking, including the Route of the Stars, and activities such as mycology days and traditional games.

By combining environmental protection, cultural programming, and practical education, Cerro Alto encourages people to understand and care for their rural surroundings.
