## Description

The Centre for Substance Use and Addiction Research (CESAR) is a research centre within the Department of Psychology, Education and Child Studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Its researchers and clinicians investigate the factors that influence risk and resilience in substance use and addiction, examining connections between the brain, behaviour and environment, from molecular processes to wider society. CESAR’s work aims to advance addiction science and inform clinical practice through behavioral, cognitive and social neuroscience. The centre also educates emerging addiction researchers, offering education and career opportunities for talented young scientists. To extend the value of its research beyond academia, CESAR provides science-based information to media and policymakers and works to promote the societal impact of addiction research.
