The Centre for Environmental Studies (CES) is a pioneering organization established in 2000 under the Forest and Environment Department of the Government of Odisha. CES is dedicated to promoting environmental education, awareness, and research while building a comprehensive environmental information database. The center serves as a pivotal platform for disseminating knowledge through various mediums, including newsletters, books, posters, and multimedia resources.

CES actively manages the National Green Corps (Eco-club Programme) with over 14,250 eco-clubs in schools and colleges across Odisha, facilitating environmental awareness and action. The organization also spearheads initiatives like the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) program, energy conservation efforts, and conducts certificate courses under the Green Skill Development Programme. Additionally, CES organizes significant observances like World Environment Day and facilitates awards recognizing outstanding contributions to environmental conservation. Through workshops, training programs, and research activities, CES plays a crucial role in fostering environmental stewardship and sustainable practices within the community.
