## Description

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia (CFNOVA) connects charitable giving with the needs and opportunities of the Northern Virginia region. It helps individuals, families, businesses, and professional advisors establish or support charitable funds, recommend grants, and explore giving options, including giving circles and corporate partnerships. The foundation also provides resources for fund partners and advisors to support effective philanthropy.

CFNOVA awards grants and scholarships and invests in community priorities through initiatives such as the Environment Fund, Healthy Kids Grants, Our Children Fund, Micron STEM Opportunity Fund, and NOVA Parks Outdoor Kids Grants. Its work also includes community investment funds, discretionary grantmaking, and economic mobility strategies. Through research, reports, conferences, events, and regional insight, the organization shares information and encourages community leadership.

The foundation reports 284 donor-established funds, $9.4 million in grants and scholarships in fiscal year 2025, and a $30.7 million permanent fund. It invites donors, nonprofits, advisors, and community members to participate in building a community that works for everyone.
