## Description

The Centre Généalogique du Finistère (CGF) is a French genealogical association founded in 1979 to help people research their family roots in Finistère and beyond. Its volunteers have built and maintained extensive searchable resources, including RECIF, a database of more than 11.8 million indexed civil-registry records, with related references that help users connect records and document family histories. Members can also consult complementary databases, including BAGAD and HORSEC, specialist genealogical collections, and more than 660,000 digitized images of civil and parish records. The CGF supports researchers at every level through beginner guides, tutorials, video lessons, a genealogical dictionary, an onomastics forum, and local branches in Brest, Morlaix, and Quimper. Its services include online database access for members, individual and couple or duo memberships, and an annual publication, Le Lien. The association also shares news, research tools, and focused resources on subjects such as Breton trades and family histories, helping members explore the region’s past and trace their ancestry.
