Chabot Space & Science Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to STEM learning and engagement in Oakland and the greater Bay Area. Our mission is to inspire and educate learners of all ages about the wonders of the Universe and Planet Earth. We provide a diverse range of immersive exhibits, hands-on STEM activities, planetarium shows, and educational programs to make science and space accessible to everyone.

In 2021, we opened the NASA Ames Visitor Center, showcasing hands-on activities and NASA Ames artifacts that highlight the latest research and space missions. Our state-of-the-art observatory complex boasts three large-scale telescopes, including the historic 20-inch telescope that played a role in the Apollo 13 mission. The 36-inch telescope is actively used for Near Earth Object research.

Located in Oakland's Redwood Regional Park, Chabot offers educational programs focused on elementary through high school students, with a particular emphasis on Oakland and Contra Costa County.
