## Description

Charis Youth and Community is an organisation focused on helping young people and youth workers thrive through mentoring, education, wellbeing support and professional development. Its mission is to provide quality mentoring that helps young people become grounded, connected and influential, guided by a vision of inspiring positive impact and leadership.

The organisation offers school programs designed to support mental health, wellbeing, engagement, retention and educational outcomes. Its youth justice services provide specialised early intervention and prevention support, helping young people connect with community, education and employment. Charis also delivers training and development workshops for youth workers and practitioners.

Its licensed programs include Tautai, a Pasifika mentoring program for schools in New Zealand and Australia. Tautai is available for schools to deliver independently, with a full curriculum, teaching and learning materials, and staff training. The program is described as a 30-week, three-phase approach that supports student identity, wellbeing, engagement and leadership. Charis’s projects also address Pasifika family wellness and community needs, including youth research and community-led responses.
