## Description

The Diocese of Charlotte is a Catholic church organization founded in 1972, serving the 46 counties of western North Carolina. It supports more than 575,000 Catholics through 93 churches and operates 20 schools, alongside more than 50 ministries and programs. Its work spans faith education, sacramental preparation, youth and young adult activities, campus ministry, vocations, and resources for people becoming Catholic. The diocese also provides community and family support through food banks, counseling, affordable housing initiatives, refugee resettlement, prison ministry, and anti-poverty efforts. Other services include Catholic Charities, pregnancy and adoption support, natural family planning, elder ministry, and pro-life advocacy. People can find churches and schools, access online faith resources, volunteer, attend events and conferences, or contribute through donations and giving campaigns. The diocese also offers dedicated ministry and formation resources in Spanish and supports a range of parish and community activities. Led by Bishop Michael Martin, it shares news, event information, and guidance for Catholics across its region, with a mission centered on faith, service, and sharing Jesus with others.
