## Description

Chattanooga Trach Families is a community-led organization supporting families of children with tracheostomies in the Chattanooga area. Founded in 2023 after local parents sought connection with others facing the same challenges, the group has grown to connect with more than 66 families. Its mission is to empower and uplift caregivers with compassionate guidance, shared experience, and advocacy, helping families find hope and joy throughout their journey.

The organization offers support at hospitals, including visits and gift bags around tracheostomy surgery, and creates opportunities for families to connect through meetups, social gatherings, and other community events. Its resources include a private Facebook support group, a newsletter, blog posts, stories, and information about events. Chattanooga Trach Families also advocates with community partners for more tracheostomy-friendly activities and a better understanding of families’ healthcare needs. The group welcomes families and others who care for them, and invites supporters to contribute through donations. Merchandise, including T-shirts and hoodies, is also available, helping support the organization’s efforts to reach more families and create resources.
