## Description

CheckPoint was a pioneering brand dedicated to providing mental health resources specifically for the gaming community. Founded by Dr. Jennifer Hazel in 2016, the organization aimed to bridge the gap in mental health representation and support for gamers. Through its array of services, CheckPoint offered professional consultation focused on accurate mental illness representation in gaming narratives, helping writers create relatable and authentic characters while fostering awareness around mental health issues.

In addition to consultation services, CheckPoint conducted research examining the potential mental health benefits associated with gaming, providing valuable insights to the community. Although CheckPoint ceased operations in 2022, its commitment to mental health advocacy continues to resonate. For those seeking support, the brand recommended resources like AbleGamers and global helplines, emphasizing the importance of reaching out for help. Despite its closure, CheckPoint's mission highlighted the crucial intersection of mental health and gaming, promoting an informed and empathetic understanding of mental wellness within this vibrant community.
