## Description

Tanzania Chess League is a chess organisation associated with the Tanzania Chess Association, promoting competitive play and wider appreciation of chess in Tanzania. Its activities bring together men, women and junior players, with league teams, player registration, schedules, standings and rules presented as part of its competition programme. The site also shares chess news, event updates and information about tournaments in Tanzania and abroad.

The league highlights chess as a way to develop concentration, logical thinking, problem-solving, pattern recognition and discipline. Its education focus includes chess in schools and the benefits of the game for young people, while its content also explores lessons chess can offer in business and planning. Players and supporters can find information about national and international events, including the Chess Olympiad and African tournaments, as well as coverage of Tanzania’s open and women’s national teams. The website’s archived updates document Tanzanian participation at the 2018 Chess Olympiad in Batumi and share player achievements.
