CHHC, the Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition, is dedicated to promoting healthy behavior and preventing chronic disease and health disparities in the Hispanic communities of metropolitan Chicago. With a rich history dating back to 1991, CHHC has been a trusted source of culturally appropriate health education and policy development. As a multi-disciplinary membership organization, CHHC collaborates with over 600 local health and social service agencies, universities, and community-based organizations to improve health outcomes for the Hispanic population. CHHC offers a range of programs, including the DIABETES EMPOWERMENT TRAINING PROGRAM and the ¡Vive tu Vida! annual health fair. Additionally, they provide resources and support for smoking cessation through their Today Is A Great Day to Quit! program. Through education, CHHC empowers patients to take control of their lives and stand against diabetes. Furthermore, CHHC actively collaborates with reputable organizations such as Northwestern University and the American Heart Association to achieve their mission. By joining forces with these partners, CHHC ensures the provision of evidence-based health education and resources. With a dedicated director, Esther Sciammarella, and a diverse team of professionals, CHHC continues to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of the Hispanic community in Chicago.
