## Description

Chicago Pedway Map is an independent mapping project focused on the pedestrian tunnel network beneath downtown Chicago. Its interactive map helps visitors explore routes connecting more than 35 blocks of the Central Business District, including entrances in train stations and commercial buildings that may be difficult to spot or absent from official maps. The project provides detailed information about access points and accessibility features, such as ramps, elevators, escalators, and accessible doors, while noting that conditions and elevator availability can change. Visitors can explore the network by neighborhood, view a 3D map, or download a PDF for offline reference. The map also documents historic and abandoned sections of the Pedway, preserving information about parts of the network that are no longer in use. Designed for close-up viewing, it uses detailed, localized mapping to make complex routes easier to understand. The site invites users to share updated information about entrances and access conditions so the map can be kept current.
