About
Description
The Children's Chorus of San Antonio (CCSA) is a community-based musical non-profit organization that aims to enrich the lives of young people through choral singing and musical performance. With a commitment to artistic excellence, social inclusion, and individual responsibility, CCSA empowers young singers to embrace a broader and more positive view of themselves and the world. Through specially crafted programming, CCSA cultivates the arts and culture in San Antonio, shaping the city's future one voice at a time.
Their repertoire programming reflects the cultural diversity of San Antonio, drawing from its rich heritage and engaging in informed concerts with performance partners. CCSA has been actively involved in the San Antonio Tricentennial Celebration, showcasing the complex heritage of the South Texas region through performances of Ballads of the Borderland and launching the Ballads Education Initiative. Founded in 1983 by Marguerite McCormick, CCSA started with 33 singers and has since grown into an independent organization dedicated to providing San Antonio youth with a musical education.
With Artistic Director Dr. Carolyn Cruse and Artistic Advisor Dr. Gary Mabry, CCSA continues to create an inclusive and inspiring musical community for young singers
