# Children's Leukaemia Society - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `childrensleukaemiasociety.co.uk` ## Description Children’s Leukaemia Society is a volunteer-run charity based in Wales that supports children diagnosed with leukaemia and other childhood cancers, along with their families. The organisation has no paid staff and focuses on practical, compassionate support during and after treatment. While a child is undergoing treatment, the Society provides a “cheer-up” gift in the form of an Argos gift card, allowing each child to choose something for themselves. After treatment, it offers families a respite holiday in one of its five holiday homes at Kiln Park in Tenby. These stays are entirely free for children and their families and include an all-amenities package. The holidays give families an opportunity to spend time together away from the hospital environment, while easing some of the financial pressure that a serious diagnosis can bring. The Society aims to ensure that access to a restorative break is not determined by household income or postcode.
